Flexible Waterproof Jointing Tape for Internal Corners, Movement Joints & Perimeter Sealing
Mapei Mapeband 120mm is a high-performance, alkali-resistant, rubber-backed waterproof jointing tape designed to seal movement joints, internal corners, and floor-to-wall transitions in wet areas. Used in conjunction with Mapei’s waterproofing products such as Mapelastic Smart or Mapelastic Foundation, Mapeband ensures long-lasting, flexible waterproof protection in bathrooms, wet rooms, terraces, balconies, and below-ground tanking systems.

Application Instructions
- Prepare Surface: Ensure substrate is clean, solid, and treated with the appropriate Mapei waterproofing membrane.
- Apply First Coat: Spread a layer of waterproof coating (e.g. Mapelastic Smart) over the area to be sealed.
- Embed Tape: Position Mapeband 120mm into the fresh membrane and press down firmly to embed the fabric edges.
- Apply Second Coat: Cover the tape with a second layer of waterproof coating to ensure full encapsulation.
Limitations
- Not suitable as a standalone waterproofing system — must be used in conjunction with approved Mapei waterproof coatings.
- Do not stretch the rubber centre excessively during installation.
Health & Safety
No specific hazards in handling. Use gloves and ensure good ventilation when working alongside waterproofing coatings. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) of associated products.
